ADULT ED: INTERMEDIATE WHEEL-THROWING INTENSIVE

This intensive class is for students looking to improve their skills in throwing and finishing pieces on the potter’s wheel. Local ceramic artist Jenny Gill will help students troubleshoot issues on the wheel while introducing intermediate-level techniques, including lidded forms, making matching sets, and thrown and altered pieces. Class meets twice per week, on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, offering an accelerated pace of learning for the summer session. We’ll do two weeks on the wheel (four classes), take a one week break for dry time and bisque firing, then come back together to glaze and finish our pieces.

Prerequisite: Students need to have taken a beginner’s level course on the potter’s wheel and have a working understanding of centering and opening clay forms. Feel free to reach out with questions about your experience level. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and dependent upon receiving payment in full.
